Sarah and Casie each present some of the most intriguing and downright absurd conspiracy theories into who The Ripper might have been. Perhaps it was a member of the Royal Family, or better yet, a beloved (though slightly deranged) children's book author?

Episode 36: The History of Childbirth (Part 2)

It's twins y'all!

Just kidding. But seriously, how could we possibly talk about one of the only things that has been literally in existence throughout all of humankind's history in just one episode?? This week, your favorite nerds dive back in (ew) to talk about how the experience of childbirth has changed in the last century.

First, Casie brings us through the 1930s, 40s, 50s, and 60s, discussing things like twilight sleep, men trying to control women's bodies (shocking right?) and finally the step by step process of the infamous Dr. L. Sarah then navigates from the 1970s to today, sharing some really depressing statistics and also educating us on how mothers have (finally) started to come back into the picture with their own childbirth experiences.

This week, your favorite nerds explore the enormously, absurdly, dangerously wealth heiress Doris Duke.

Then, Casie dives into some of Duke's illustrious love affairs (including, but not limited to, surfers, actors, and... war generals?) before driving forward into an unexpected turn to true crime. This week, Sarah and Casie discuss the many facets of the Harlem Renaissance and the incomparable achievements of African Americans during this significant time period of change and artistic expression.

Episode 33: The History of Childbirth (Part 1)

Alrighty nerds, it's time to talk about the one thing that unites us all- and that's being born!

In this week's long awaited episode, Sarah and Casie are talking all things childbirth (Part One that is!) First, Casie takes us through prehistorical births in ancient civilizations (where it becomes increasingly clear that men had no idea what happened when babies were born) all the way to the inclusion of obstetrics becoming a part of "mainstream" medicine. Then Sarah picks up with the horrors of twilight sleep and men's increasingly intrusive introduction into the delivery room. From holding onto looms, to Hogwarts birth control, to chloroform and all it's wonders, there's one surprise after another this week!

Episode 32: Hatshepsut

It's time for another badass babe and this time, we're taking the way way WAY back machine! This week, your favorite nerds are talking all things Hatshepsut, one of the few female pharaohs of Ancient Egypt.

This baddy was a ruler within her own right (like, literally) and she's come to be known as one of the more mysterious and inspiring leaders of the ancient world. Daughter (and sister and wife??) of a pharaoh, Hatshepsut donned her fake beard led her people into an age of prosperity and peace, though not everyone was a fan (we're looking at you Amenhotep II).

Listen in as Casie and Sarah talk about myrrh trees, construction accomplishments, and a damnatio memoriae all while LAUDING the ancient badass babe Hatshepsut.

Join Sarah and Casie as they embark on a journey through time to look at some of the most ridiculous, eccentric, and all-around mind boggling "epidemics" to occur in human history- and we promise COVID19 isn't one of them.

Skank along with Casie as she bops her way through the Dancing Plague of 1518 before chuckling along with Sarah in the Tanganyika Laughter Epidemic of the 1960s. Think farts are funny? Then you'll love the weird true-crime, gas related crossover that is the Mad Gasser Attacks of the 1940s. Hashslingingslasher? More like Halifax Slasher- right Sarah? Finally, the nerds bring it home with disappearing genitalia and Sister Act 4 featuring cats and dogs.
